Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod unveiled its Golden Jubilee Logo during the Official Launching of the Golden Jubilee Celebration on July 8, 2010. The logo incorporates pertinent aspects of CSA-B's history, identity, vision and mission, all encapsulated in a visual collage that captures the Augustinian spirit of "oneness of mind and heart".
The following is an essay on the symbolism of the Golden Jubilee logo, taken verbatim from the Official Golden Jubilee Logo AVP: "In 1962, the flaming Augustinian heart dreamt and desired to serve the Negrenses. The dream had taken root and from humble beginnings sprouted into a name synonymous with quality education. The portals of CSA-B embraced hundreds of Augustinians who passed through its hallowed grounds and they, in turn, made a lasting imprint in the different sectors of society. The Augustinians continuously bring along with them the influence of an Augustinian brand of education. The world today faces a lot of challenges. But with Augustinians at the forefront of creating changes for the common good, we bravely confront the challenges with confidence that we will overcome and resolve all these problems... Augustinians indeed are ready to build a better world. Like the Eagle that flies the highest, CSA-B continues to soar and dream the ultimate aspirations it wants for the Augustinians - to be the best in their endeavor to be looked up to and be admired by all. St. Augustine said, "What does love look like? It has the hands to help others; it has the feet to hasten to the poor and the needy; it has eyes to see misery and want; it has ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men." This is what the Augustinians past and present have done and have been doing for humankind. For half a century of serving the Negrenses, CSA-B is now looking back to its glorious past. To the near-empty lot with a few clasrooms; to the construction of the different buildings to house a growing number of Augustinians; to the present time as it stands tall with all its triumphs. Truly, CSA-B has taken root, gained ground and is now soaring high... the Augustinian Way." |
