The CSA-B Research and Planning Office held the 1st CSA-B Undergraduate Multidisciplinary Research Presentation on March 22, 2016 at the CSA-B Audio Visual Room. This activity, with the theme “Fostering Innovation through Excellent Endogenous Research”, was participated by the different colleges of the institution namely the College of Accountancy, Business Education and Computer Studies (CABECS), College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) and the College of Nursing (CON) which sent two of the best student researches to represent their respective colleges. The College of Engineering (COE) sent two researchers as guest presenters. The presented research projects were evaluated by Engr. Allan Francis Dara-ug (Department of Science and Technology Provincial Director Negros Occidental), Dr. Irene Malaga (Former Director of Research and Planning Office CSA-B), Paolo G. Hilado, RN, MN (Director of Research and Planning Office CSA-B) and Jing Bautista Msc. (Former Research Associate, Department of Science and Technology Region X).
Winning entries of the competition included “Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod Online Academic and Discipline Violation Decision Support System” presented by Mr. Mark Anthony Mendoza from CABECS in Third Place, “Level of Awareness of Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course Recipients” presented by Mr. Jan Carlo Lacson and Ms. Quennie Ann Sabater from CON in Second Place and “Humor Styles and Emotional Intelligence” presented by Mr. Julio V. Zayco from CASE in First Place.
This undertaking was organized by the Research and Planning Office with the aim of emphasizing the relevance of outcomes-based research to the institution and the society, highlight the importance of research ethics and provide a venue for confidence building among student researchers preparing them for research presentations in the provincial, regional, national and international levels.
