Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod commemorated its 55th Foundation Day last July 8, 2017 with different activities with the theme “CSA-B @ 55: Encountering the Truth Within”.
The festive mood started with a Unity Walk from the Lagoon to the school which was participated by the Augustinian Administrators, students, faculty, employees and alumni. All wore their party hats.
The Institutional Eucharistic Celebration followed the Unity Walk which was concelebrated by the Augustinian friars headed by the Prior Rev. Fr. Eusebio Berdon, OSA. The induction of the FEASA, Departmental Councils and Campus Organization Officers was done after the mass.
Production Numbers from the different departments showcased the events that marked CSA-B for the past 55 years. The College of Arts, Sciences and Education won this contest followed by the Non-teaching Personnel and the Basic Education Department.
Accumulating a total of 75 points, Team Madaura (Yellow) was declared the overall champion during the Agostinolympics.
Team Madaura eased out Team Rome (Red) by five points winning in two games and placing second and third in four others. Games such as Sunod sa Tunog Hampas Palayok, Baleybol with a Twist, Patintero, Dodge Ball and Luksong Lubid were played. Team Carthage (Blue) and Team Tagaste (Green) logged 55 and 50 points respectively.
Afterwards, the four teams converged for the Unity Lunch at the Administration Building lobby. Bingo Socials followed with lots of prizes given away.
The Agostinolympics is composed of four teams coming from a combination of faculty and non-teaching personnel. This activity is part of the Family Welfare Program of the Human Resource Development Office in cooperation with the Faculty and Employee Association of San Agustin (FEASA).
Different departments also congregated in different areas for their Acquaintance Program and party with their own Bingo Socials. The launching of the Search for the 2017 Mr. and Ms. Augustinian Model Students commenced in the evening featuring the Advocacy projects of each contestant.
