Basic Education Department

BED logoThe Basic Education Department is composed of the Pre-school, Primary and Secondary education programs; it is K-12 compliant. The Secondary education area is further composed of the Junior High School and the Senior High School programs.

The Basic Education Department is the oldest educational unit in CSA-B, tracing its roots from the Casanova School founded by Doña Soledad Locsin which was acquired by the Augustinians in 1962. At that time, it offered Kindergarten, Elementary, and High School education.

Our Primary and Secondary Education programs are Level III PAASCU-accredited, valid until May 2021.

Pre-school Education

The Pre-school education facility is located at the Sto. Niño Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) beside Villa San Agustin, Bacolod City. It bears Government Permit No. E-89, series of 2010 and Government Recognition No. ER-39, series of 2011. The Sto. Niño ECLC offers the following programs:

  • Nursery
  • Pre-Kinder
  • Kinder

Primary Education

The Primary (Elementary) education program bears Government Recognition No. 83, series of 1963. It offers the following programs:

  • Grade 1
  • Grade 2
  • Grade 3
  • Grade 4
  • Grade 5
  • Grade 6

Junior High School

The Junior High School program of the Secondary education area bears Government Recognition No. 84, series of 1963. It offers the following programs:

  • Grade 7
  • Grade 8
  • Grade 9
  • Grade 10

Senior High School

The Senior High School program of the Secondary education area bears Government Permit No. SHS-001, series of 2015 and Government Permit No. SHS-177, series of 2016. It offers the following programs:

  • Grade 11 (beginning AY 2016-2017)
  • Grade 12 (beginning AY 2017-2018)

K-12 Primer

Under the Senior High School program, students are given the choice of registering for the following TRACKS, STRANDS and SPECIALIZATIONS:

  • The Academic Track offers the following Strands:

    • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)
    • Accountancy, Business & Management (ABM)
    • Humanities & Social Sciences (HUMSS)
    • General Academic Strand (GAs)
  • The Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) Track offers the following Strands:
    • Home Economics, which includes the following Specializations:
      • Food and Beverage Services
      • Bread and Pastry Production
      • Health Care Services
      • Cookery
    • Information & Communications Technology, which includes the following Specializations:
      • Computer Hardware Servicing
      • Computer Programming
      • Animation

The Academic track is meant for students who want to pursue a college degree after graduation from Senior High School, while the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood track is perfect for those who would like to work immediately after Senior High School.

GASTPE / Educational Service Contracting / SHS Voucher Program

The Basic Education Department is a DepEd GASTPE/ESC grantee; the Senior High School Program accepts government vouchers through the SHS Voucher Program. Avail of government assistance through CSA-B's Basic Education Department.
