In a memorandum dated May 10, 2017, the Office of the President commends the efforts of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Principal, Quality Assurance Director, subject area coordinators, faculty, staff and students for their contribution to the success of the BED accreditation.The core programs of the College department have likewise improved on their respective PAASCU status levels. The Arts and Sciences, and Elementary and Secondary Education programs of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE), the Business Administration program of the College of Accountancy, Business Education and Computer Studies (CABECS), the Mechanical and Computer Engineering programs of the College of Engineering (CoE) have been granted Level II re-accredited status for five years, valid until May 2022.Furthermore, the Entrepreneurship program of CABECS has been granted initial accreditation (Level I) for three years, valid until May 2020. CABECS' Tourism Management program is also eligible for a Formal Survey six months to a year from May 2017, paving the way for a potential Level I status.The School Administration commends with deep gratitude the efforts of all Vice Presidents, Deans of CABECS, CASE and CoE, Quality Assurance Director, Committee Chairpersons and Members, Area Heads, Coordinators, faculty, staff, students and all those who have contributed to the success of the 2017 tertiary level PAASCU visit. This activity, with the theme “Fostering Innovation through Excellent Endogenous Research”, was participated by the different colleges of the institution namely the College of Accountancy, Business Education and Computer Studies (CABECS), College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) and the College of Nursing (CON) which sent two of the best student researches to represent their respective colleges. The College of Engineering (COE) sent two researchers as guest presenters. The presented research projects were evaluated by Engr. Allan Francis Dara-ug (Department of Science and Technology Provincial Director Negros Occidental), Dr. Irene Malaga (Former Director of Research and Planning Office CSA-B), Paolo G. Hilado, RN, MN (Director of Research and Planning Office CSA-B) and Jing Bautista Msc. (Former Research Associate, Department of Science and Technology Region X).Winning entries of the competition included “Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod Online Academic and Discipline Violation Decision Support System” presented by Mr. Mark Anthony Mendoza from CABECS in Third Place, “Level of Awareness of Tuberculosis Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course Recipients” presented by Mr. Jan Carlo Lacson and Ms. Quennie Ann Sabater from CON in Second Place and “Humor Styles and Emotional Intelligence” presented by Mr. Julio V. The College of Engineering for their part achieved a 100% passing rate for first-takers during the board exam for Mechanical Engineers given in Manila, Cebu and Davao on October 2014. CSA-B was ranked 2nd in Western Visayas in overall performance of schools nationwide. Earlier in September 2014, Mark Lester G.
