Through a Memorandum of Agreement between CSA-B, represented by the School President Rev. Fr. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, and its faculty researchers, the aforementioned R&D project teams have been provided with corresponding research fund and research loads for faculty researchers. One of the R&D project team is led by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Engr. Eduardo C. Leonor, together with Mrs. Elena Morales, COE faculty, and Mrs. Gladys Arceo, Guidance Associate. The said project involves the creation of a tool to assess the dominant brain functions of students and the development of a program designed to improve latent areas. Another R&D project is being conducted by a team led by Engr. Isabelo Ganaba, COE Area Head for Mechanical Engineering (ME), Engr. Fernando Emnace (ME Faculty) and Engr. Jeremiah Dearborn Gangoso, Computer Engineering (CPE) Faculty. The aforementioned R&D project team is currently engaged in the development of a solar powered cooler and heater designed specifically to reinforce learning in refrigeration application for mechanical engineering students. A wired and wireless network trainer appropriate to the learning needs of the computer engineering and information technology students is also currently being developed by Engr. Rodolfo Doromal, COE Area Head for Computer Engineering (CPE).Guided by their corresponding R&D project plan, the progress of the R&D project teams continue to be monitored by the Research and Planning Office led by its Director, Paolo Hilado RN, DRDM, MN, vis-à-vis the anticipated results for each specified activity.  To date, all the R&D project teams continue to meet predetermined milestones for their projects. The aforementioned R&D projects are geared toward further promoting efficiency by tapping the potentials of the educative community to further strengthen endogenous technologies. Hilado, RN, DRDM, MN, garnering an average grade of 1.06 (99.375%), was among the nine Chancellor's list awardees and was one of the eight graduates (three from class AY 2013-2014) of the said post baccalaureate diploma who were narrowed from more than 40 students. "When I enrolled in UP, I was expecting that it would really be challenging. . . and it was. The process really required both diligence and intellectual acuity," says Mr. Hilado. Mr. Hilado further states that having been the research coordinator of the College of Nursing and the research director of CSA-B thereafter qualified him at the university as one needs research and management experience to be admitted for the degree.Meanwhile, his post graduate study lasted two years, requiring him to carefully balance his time between his work as a research director, and as a student. "Most of our learning activities involved creating meaningful transfigurations of concepts so that these may be appropriate for R&D management," Hilado added. The medals as Chancellor's list awardee conferred by the Department and the University are prestigious emblems given to academically outstanding UP graduates. As reported by: David S.
