CSA-B Holds 2025 Student Research Conference: Championing Innovation and Responsibility

Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod (CSA-B) successfully held its annual Student Research Conference on May 26, 2025, at the CSA-B Auditorium, bringing together student researchers under the theme “Innovative Minds, Responsible Hearts: Student Research for Sustainable Progress.” The conference provided a dynamic platform for presenting student-led research that fosters sustainable development and real-world solutions.

The program opened with a welcome address by Dr. Noeda Madamesila, Director of the Research and Planning Office (RPO), who underscored the importance of fostering a research culture that cuts across all disciplines, whether in health, business, engineering, or education.

This was followed by an inspiring message from School President Fr. Jose Rene Delariarte, O.S.A., who highlighted the role of research in addressing today’s complex challenges and the importance of ethical scholarship that underpin the school’s commitment to research excellence.

The keynote speaker, David Hinolan, RPh, MS, CIP, a licensed pharmacist, CSA-B alumnus, and Ph.D. candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan, delivered an empowering keynote speech. Drawing from his nearly five years of experience in pharmaceutical research, he challenged student researchers to pursue science that not only innovates but heals and uplifts communities. He emphasized research as a lifelong pursuit of truth and societal impact.

The event culminated in an awarding ceremony that honored the outstanding student researchers in both oral and poster presentation categories.
