We are proud to share the outstanding performance of our students from the College of Health and Allied Professions (CHAP) during the 1st Provincial Wildlife Quiz for College Students held on November 19, 2025, at the CSA-B Auditorium. Guided by their coach, Mr. Plaridel D. Tison Jr., Brent Joshua G. De Castro (BS Medical Technology II) achieved an exceptional total score of 58 points to emerge as Champion, while Johann Francis D. Cuachon (BS Pharmacy I) followed closely with 57 points to secure Second Place.
The event brought together 19 student participants and their coaches from 11 public and private colleges and universities across Negros Occidental, all competing in this intellectually stimulating quiz. The three-round competition covered a wide range of topics, including general biology, ecology, botany, zoology, Philippine and local biodiversity and wildlife, world and Philippine biogeography, environmental laws, environmental issues, and current events.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Province of Negros Occidental, the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO), and the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc. (PhilBio) for organizing this meaningful event that promotes greater awareness and appreciation of our province’s rich biodiversity.
