We celebrate the achievements of our Medical Technology and Nursing students at Tambal Day 2025, held on September 25 at the University of St. La Salle MM Auditorium.
The research category competition was dominated by our outstanding Augustinians, led by BSMT students Giljan Rezeile Cataluña and Decilla Joy Estera, who clinched the championship with their study “Comparative Analysis of Serum Creatinine Levels of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Users and Antiretroviral Therapy Users in Selected Areas of Negros Occidental: Implications for HIV and Renal Health.” Close behind were Christian Edgar Capulso and Marvie Jane Erasmo, who finished as first runners-up with their in silico research on Syzygium samarangense phytocompounds, followed by Jethro Sabarillo and Tristan Juanillo, who secured second runners-up for their study on antimicrobial-resistant Escherichia coli in backyard piggeries.
Excellence extended to other categories, with John Michael P. Espinosa, Ashley Isabele C. Nifras, and Ela Maureen M. Gerangaya placing first runner-up in the Quiz Bee, and BSN Level 4 student Therese Gomez earning first runner-up in Essay Writing. J. Eugene Jolito and Fiona May Aperong also proudly represented us in the essay writing and photo contest categories, respectively.
We also heartily recognize the invaluable guidance of our faculty-mentors in the Medical Technology and Nursing programs who nurtured and inspired our student-participants: CHAP Academic Coordinator, Ms. Lourdes Ivaliz Iledan, RN, MN; MTS Adviser Mr. Karlo Antonio Palabrica, RMT; Research Adviser Mr. Jason James Lusabia, RMT; and all our BSMT and BSN administrators and mentors behind these achievements. Our teachers’ commitment to mentoring reflects CSAB’s mission of cultivating academic excellence and leadership among our Augustinian students.
CSAB thanks TAMBAL, a non-governmental organization promoting healthcare and community empowerment, for providing a platform for our young health professionals to advance innovative solutions to pressing social and health challenges.
