Where Humility Meets Greatness

  • December 10, 2025
In every school year, there are students who shine — and then there are those rare few whose light becomes a source of pride and inspiration for an entire community. J. Eugene Christian S. Jolito, a fourth-year Nursing student, is one such exceptional soul. His journey, marked by humility, brilliance, and quiet determination, continues to lift the Augustinian community and remind us of the extraordinary things that can happen when passion is rooted in purpose and humility.

In August, Eugene led the CSAB Nursing contingent in the Regional Battle of the Nightingales, where they emerged as Champion, earning the honor of representing Region VI in the national level. In October, Eugene and his teammates faced some of the country’s most prestigious and powerful nursing schools during the National Championship, where they achieved an impressive 4th Place finish.

But Eugene’s story of excellence did not end there. In November, he stepped onto the international stage during the 14th International Conference of Nurses (ICONS), where his research earned the Best Research Paper Award.

Just a week later, on December 7, Eugene’s commitment to leadership and service was recognized nationally. He was named one of the Outstanding Jose Rizal Model Students of the Philippines during the 36th JRMSP, a distinction given to young Filipinos who exemplify integrity, academic excellence, and love for country. On the same day, during the 63rd National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute, Eugene showcased his eloquence once again, finishing 3rd Place in the Oratorical Speech Competition.

Yet behind his long list of achievements is a young man grounded in humility. Eugene is known not only for his exceptional abilities but for his character — how he treats others with respect, how he perseveres sincerely, and how he quietly honors his family, mentors, and school by giving his very best in everything he does.

Today, we celebrate Eugene not just for the medals he has earned, but for the heart he has shown. His journey is a beautiful reminder that Augustinian greatness is not defined by awards — it is defined by character, dedication, and the perseverance to strive for excellence while remaining grounded in humility.

Eugene, thank you for bringing honor, pride, and joy to CSAB. Thank you for inspiring your fellow Augustinians to dream boldly and serve wholeheartedly. Your CSAB family stands with you — proud, grateful, and deeply moved by your light. Soar higher!
