CSA-B logoAs part of its Career and Placement program, Colegio San Agustin - Bacolod’s Guidance Center conducted mock job interviews on January 17-18, 2012 among the graduating students of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) and the College of Accountancy, Business Education and Computer Studies (CABECS), with selected teaching and non-teaching personnel as interviewers. The interviewees were evaluated according to the following criteria: English proficiency, ability to answer questions or articulation, readiness for employment in terms of knowledge and skills, self-confidence and grooming. The interviewees accomplished two forms: resume and exit interview. Students of the College of Engineering underwent the same exercise on January 24, 2012.

Mrs. Bethel Basinang conducts a mock interview The mock interview served as the application of the theories the graduating students had learned from the Job Hunting Skills Seminar which was conducted by the Guidance Center staff on January 10, 2012. Some of the inputs they had put into practice were Resume Tutor and Impressing Interviews conducted by Nick D. Alayon,  MA, RGC, the director of Guidance Services Center; Power Dressing by Gladys Arceo, Guidance Associate/Career and Placement Coordinator and Work Attitude by Ma. Joan Tan, Guidance Associate assigned at the High School Department.

Students attend a focus group seminar Some of the focus group sessions which were conducted by the Guidance Center were Teen Sexuality Seminar with the College Freshmen in their National Service Training Program (NSTP) last August 2011 and Personality Development with the College Sophomores last July and September 2011. Moreover, a Career Awareness Seminar was conducted by the same last October 1, 2011 at the gymnasium for the College Freshmen through their NSTP class with the aim to help the students chart their career path, explore possible career choices other than what they have enrolled in, those which suit their personalities, interests and attitude. The invited speakers were Dr. Felicidad Altalaguire representing Engineering/Technology, Miss Liza Celiz, Education, Ma. Theresa Garilao, Business Administration,  and April Joy de la Rama, Medical Technology.  The second part was conducted on January 7, 2012 with the speakers being Nick Alayon, Psychology, Engr. Another seminar on Self-Concept will be conducted by the same for the College Sophomores and Juniors in February.
