Scholarship and Privileges

The scholarships & privileges offered by Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod are reflections of its unwavering commitment to excellence in helping financially challenged students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, exceptional talents and skills and commendable ability to pursue their college education.

 

GENERAL POLICIES & GUIDELINES

  1. Scholarship at CSA-B is given only to qualified students hence, it is NON-TRANSFERRABLE.
  2. The granting of scholarship is a privilege offered by the School.  The administration reserves the right to grant, withhold or withdraw the same for causes determined by it.
  3. No student shall enjoy “double scholarship”.
  4. If a grantee fails to avail of the scholarship immediately after his/her High School graduation, he/she can still enjoy the scholarship provided he/she has not enrolled in other schools for college education.
  5.  In order to avail any of the grant/scholarship, qualified students should apply at the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs within the schedule announced/posted at the strategic places/bulletin boards around the school campus.
  6.  No application of scholarship will be accepted after the deadline is met.
  7. Unless otherwise specified, scholarships are granted for the first and second semesters and on the regular tuition fees only. All miscellaneous and other fees are therefore to be paid.
  8. All grant/scholarship may be maintained, increased, decreased, or lost on a semestral basis.
  9. All grant/scholarship grantees must abide to the norms or conduct of the School.

 

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS

Augustinian Eagle Excellence Award (Honor’s Scholarship) – Awarded to the Top Twenty (20) Senior High School honor graduates of any strand from Science/Public/Private High schools recognized by the Department of Education with at least 100 graduates. The applicants must have a GWA of at least 90% and with no grade below 85% in any subject. This scholarship is given for one semester only.

 

Augustinian Admission Scholarship – Awarded to incoming college freshmen who topped the Admission Examination conducted by the Guidance & Testing Center during the schedule set by the school. The applicant must reach the cut off test result of Level 1 or Level 2. The applicant must belong to the upper 10% of the graduating class whose GWA is at least 90% and with no grade below 85% in any subject.

 

Academic Standing Scholarship – Awarded to the continuing student who enrolled in the school for at least one semester and was awarded as one of the Top Three Academic Honors during the Academic Recognition Program. The student must carry the regular subject loads prescribed in the curriculum and have earned a GWA of at least 90% with no grade below 85% in any subject. The total number of enrollees/students per program/course in every year level is considered in determining this scholarship.

 

Athletic Scholarship – This scholarship is designed to help financially challenged students pursue college education while pursuing excellence in sports like Basketball, Volleyball and other sports events recognized by the school. This is open to Senior High School graduates and transferees, as well as to bonafide CSA-B students.

 

He/She:

must be 18 and not more than 24 years of old;

must be physically and mentally fit to play;

must carry a minimum load of not less than 15 units with no Dropped, No Credit or Failure subjects;

must be of good moral character; and

must have never been subjected to any disciplinary action.

 

Performing Arts Scholarship – This is granted to students with exceptional talents in the field of performing arts like pop/brass band, chorale, dance, dance sports and theater. This is open to SHS graduates and bonafide students who underwent the screening or audition process conducted, and accepted by the concerned Artistic Director and recommended by the Performing Arts Director. Must carry a minimum load of 15 units with no Failure, Dropped or No Credit in any subjects.

The renewal of scholarship is dependent on the result of semestral evaluation.

 

 

Grant-in-Aid for Student Assistants – This scholarship is designed to provide opportunity to Catholic poor but deserving and intellectually capable students pursue college education by hiring them as part time student assistants to work in various offices and department of the College. The applicant must be a Senior High School graduate from any school recognized by the Department of Education or College Student who belong to a family whose combined annual income is not more than Php 250,000.00, with good academic standing, good moral conduct and integrity, physically fit to work and pass the battery of examinations and interviews conducted by VPSA Admin Assistant, or the screening committee assigned by the Office of VPSA. The student assistant must have no remarks of either FAILURE, DROPPED or NO CREDIT in any subject and must have a semestral performance rating of at least GOOD and annual rating of VERY GOOD.

 

 St. Augustine Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to official contestants who will be declared as Top Four Winners in the final round of the tilt. Students who come from other religious denominations may join the contest. This scholarship is not convertible to cash.   Therefore, if the student will not enroll in the succeeding school year or opt to transfer to another school, the scholarship grant shall automatically be forfeited.

 

 

Engineering Scholarship Program for CSAB SHS Graduates and  Transferees / Graduates of Technical and Technology CoursesThis Scholarship aims to recruit quality students from CSAB Senior High School graduates and qualified transferees from other schools as well as to graduates of 2 or 3 years Technical and Technological courses for the programs in the College of Engineering namely BS in Chemical Engineering (BSChE), BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). The recipients will enjoy discounts on tuition fee.

 

 

Family Privileges – Members of the same family shall enjoy discounts on tuition fees only upon submission of application forms and supporting documents at the Office of the Vice-President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) within two (2) weeks after the enrollment period:

First regular student        – Full payment

Second Brother/Sister    – 10% discount on tuition fee

Third Brother/Sister        – 10% discount on tuition fee

Fourth Brother/Sister     – 10% discount on tuition fee

Fifth Brother / Sister        – 10% discount on tuition fee

The sequence (first, second, third, fourth and fifth) refers to enrollment in the school and not the sequence of birth in the family.

 

 

Religious Scholarship – This Scholarship is offered to the legitimate siblings and direct nephew or nieces of Augustinian Friars of Sto. Nino de Cebu. The scholarship ends upon completion of the first college degree.

 

 

President’s Scholarship – This Scholarship is designed to offer 100% scholarship discount on tuition fee to Top twenty (20) completers of CSAB who intend to pursue any board programs in Accountancy, Education and Engineering from First semester in Grade 11 until last year of their College provided the recipients maintain a minimum GWA of 93% with no grade below 90% in any subject. The Scholarship Office reserves the right to review the conditions and the procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes anytime including termination of the program.
