Faculty and students from the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology program of CSAB won First Place in the Poster Research Presentation (Medical, Food, and Agricultural Microbiology Category) during the 32nd Annual Regional Convention and Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM) – Visayas Chapter, held on October 23–24, 2025, at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City.
The team’s study titled “Incidence of Antimicrobial-Resistant Escherichia coli Isolated from Sus scrofa in Selected Backyard Piggeries in Negros Occidental” examined the presence of antimicrobial-resistant E. coli in pigs raised in local backyard piggeries — an important contribution to understanding public health and agricultural microbiology issues in the region.
The winning team is composed of Alain C. Juayang, Jethro A. Sabarillo, Florence Julia R. Cerbas, Maebell Francis S. Giron, Tristan T. Juanillo, Trish Stratus Y. Mationg, Rexine Mae S. Sombero, Zheilo Jane K. Tibor, and Jason James P. Lusabia.
Congratulations, Augustinians!
