SHS Faculty Spotlight Teacher Leadership at National Research Conference

  • March 3, 2026
Faculty members from CSAB’s SHS Department showcased their research at the Society for Strategic Education Studies (S4SES) 2026 National Conference, at Ateneo de Manila University.

The team, composed of Marivic M. Licono, Marjorie B. Cordova, Deo Anne V. Espinosa, Myrna G. Claro, and Plaridel D. Tison Jr., presented two studies aligned with the conference theme, “Teacher Leadership in Action: Voices and Visions from Philippine Locales.”

Their first study highlighted the significant role of classroom-based teacher leadership in promoting student engagement and peer collaboration in hybrid learning environments. Findings showed that students who perceived stronger teacher leadership were more engaged and worked more effectively with peers.

The second study, which examined online teacher communities as platforms for policy discourse and collective action, concluded that active participation in these communities enhances educators’ influence, and with strong professional networks further strengthens their capacity to drive collective action.

The CSAB academic community commends the research team for contributing valuable insights on the impact of teacher leadership in both classroom practice and broader educational engagement.
